If you can't stand the sight of blood, thank God you weren't born before Christ.
Pre-Jesus religion was soaked with the blood of innocent animals,
sacrificed unceasingly to avoid the terrifying wrath of God. Now
the closest thing to blood in worship is in the communion cup, from which we
drink not in fear, but in gratitude.
Why no more blood? Why no
more fear?
Believe it or not, that baby in the manger was the one who changed
everything.
