Of all the hurdles that make it hard to believe, the one we're going to try to clear in this message is the tallest one of all--because it involves, not an abstract question that originates in our mind, but an aching question that erupts from our heart: "Why should I believe in a God who doesn't use His power to stop unjust suffering?"
All of us have gone through, or are going through, or will go through experiences that make it hard to believe in the love or the power or maybe even the existence of God. But if our struggle to make sense of suffering propels us toward Him rather than driving us from Him, there are some things He will say to us that just might fertilize our faith rather than shattering it.
