How will you be remembered when you're gone?

It's common at memorial gatherings for stories to be told. Unforgettable incidents are shared, because they capture the personality and the character of the one who is being remembered. What stories will be told about you?

In this message we remember the life of a Bible character whose whole life is encapsulated in a single story. But what that story says about him is what I'll bet you want others (especially God) to say about you. They will if you respond to the biggest challenge of your life like this man did.

Unique: Blindsided - Discussion Questions

Notes and Discussion Questions for, "Blindsided" Sunday, 03-16-14

Unique: Blindsided

Just think of what God could have done through you if not for what others have done to you.

You were a rising star until that person, or those people, made you the target of their mistreatment.  You were betrayed. Blindsided. Bypassed. Accused falsely. Abused. It halted your momentum and downsized your potential.

Or did it?  What if unjust setbacks are not obstacles to being used by God, but opportunities for Him to use you like no one else?

I'm praying that through this message you will see the darkest moment of your life in a whole new light.

How many Mulligans do disciples get?
If you're not a golfer, you may not know what a Mulligan is. It's basically a do-over--a second chance after an awful stroke. Golfers crave Mulligans so much that they pay for them in charity tournaments.
But does God give Mulligans? When He entrusts us with important responsibilities, and we fail, do we get second chances? If so, how many?
In this message, we'll get answers to those questions by observing how Jesus dealt with his most failure-prone disciple. If you wonder whether your future potential is limited by your past mistakes, don't miss this encouraging study.

Notes and Questions: The Kind of People God Uses

Discussion notes and questions for, "The Kind of People God Uses: Judges 6-8"

The Kind of People God Uses: Judes 6-8

Listen to, "The Kind of People God Uses" by Greg Sidders, Sunday, 03-02-14

Stare at the above title. How does it make you feel? Does your heart beat faster because it expresses a holy longing? Or do the words fail to resonate because you think you're not the kind of person God can use? Or is there dissonance between your ambitions and feelings of inadequacy?

You know that God can use anybody, and that He doesn't use everybody. What you may find hard to believe is that what it takes to be used by God, you just might have.

In this message we begin a 5-part series by looking at the Bible's poster child for inadequacy. Watch and see what God did with such unimpressive raw materials!
